Community Projects

ComSat embarked on a community initiative project to deliver computer labs with high speed internet connection to primary schools, health centre and a mission district head quarter in rural communities in the Lower Unggai and Bena areas of Eastern Highlands Province. This project was made possible with a partnership agreement between ComSat and PNG Dataco.

Beneficiaries include i) Unggai Primary School, ii) Arikayufa Primary School, iii) Bena Adventist Primary School, iv) Unggai Health Centre, and v) Unggai SDA District Head Quarters. A total of 45 computer work stations with internet connectivity has been installed in these locations. This project was officially launched on 9th July 2019 at Unggai Primary School by Goroka Open MP, Hon. Henry Ame.

This project is a first in the province and ComSat is looking to extend this service in all districts of the province. Expansion will depend on financial support from MPs, government departments and/or agencies as well as donors.
